Munjoy Street is the result of a collaboration between the City of Portland and Adam’s Apple Development. The city owned “Brownfields” site provided an opportunity for grant funding from the federal government to move forward with a deed restricted project to offer brand new housing to median income residents on Munjoy Hill. The design aims to blend with Munjoy Hill’s classic flat roof, clapboard siding, and bay window bump outs of the early 1900s. The addition of a raingarden draws a connection between the new property and an existing adjacent park. Building performance is at the forefront of design with energy efficient windows, fresh air ventilation systems, and other efficiencies that exceed code requirements. These efficiencies, coupled with careful consideration of the construction budget are mutually beneficial to the City, the Developer and the home owner.
“Evan and his team consistently come through for us with solutions that gracefully meld creativity and efficacy. This comes not just from being smart, skilled, and dedicated, but from an innate disposition to caring deeply and listening intently.” Ethan Boxer-Macomber Owner, Anew Development
